Accreditation
As the academic health sciences campus of the University of Mississippi, UMMC functions as a separately accredited, semi-autonomous unit responsible to the chancellor of the university and through him to the constitutionally established Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning. The University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. Degree-granting institutions also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels.
